This book is Deliverance, Lord of the Flies and The Simpson's Movie all put together in a 1,072 page book.
I am a big Stephen King fan but felt a little disappointed by too much foreshadowing. He would tell you that someone was going to die two chapters before they actually get chopped in half, shot, electricuted, suffocated, crushed by a car or one of the other 100 ways he chooses to write their deaths.
Could he have told the same story in less pages? Yes.
Could he have told the same story with less characters? Yes.
But after spending a week with this book, I'm glad I finally got to the end but I would have liked less politics (which seems to be the premise of the story) and more of the supernatural or horror that his stories are known for.
