I am a fan of Dean Koontz and was excited to receive this book from a friend that won it as an ARC.
I was warned that it wasn't as good of a story as he's capable of. However, I didn't expect the frustration of the inconsistencies and the completely unrealistic and annoying characters. The storyline itself had potential, but fell flat with what felt like laziness through most of the book, only to hurry to wrap things up at the end.
Only because it was written by Dean Koontz did I give this story a chance. Had it been an unknown author, I would have put it down and walked away after the first 10 chapters.
