So disappointed! This should really be titled "Night Huntress 4.5" because if you try to read the 5th book in the series, you'll feel like you're missing something. I made the mistake of trying to read the first few chapters of the 5th book and they kept referring to things that hadn't happened in book 4. This frustrated me so much that I felt like I had to read "First Drop of Crimson" in order to get the whole story. Now I realize I also have to read the next book "Eternal Kiss of Darkness" in order to get the rest of the story before I can go back to the original 5th book in the series. If I didn't like the original series so much I wouldn't put myself though reading these secondary stories that are only mediocre at best. Everything I like about the original series were lacking in the spinoff books. The one liners weren't funny. All Denise does is whine the entire book. Spade is one of my favorite characters but I didn't feel any real "love" between him and the extremely annoying Denise. They had nothing in common and it's not like they had meaningful "getting to know you" talks enough to be that deeply in love in such a short period of time. When I find myself skimming pages, looking at the percentage on my Kindle getting closer to 100% (and it makes me happy), I know the book pretty much sucks.
