I wouldn't have downloaded this one to my Kindle had I realized this was YA. I actually deleted it after I started reading the first chapter thinking "I don't want to read another teenage angst filled story!". But after seeing it on the Kindle top 100 list, I read some of the reviews and figured it was short so I wouldn't be wasting that much time if I hated it. I retrieved the download and read it.
Surprisingly, I am happy that I read it. It was a really good story that wasn't whiney and had some real issues that should be addressed in the real world. Landon/Lukas was a great hero and he wasn't the typical possessive asshole, trying to pass off as romantic, that I hate so much! He was actually down-to-earth and more realistic than most of the hero type characters I've read about in a long time.
I am still not a fan of YA, and I will never go out of my way to read that genre, but this was a happy accident. Good Job Ms. Webber.
