Dark Needs at Night's Edge - Kresley Cole I guess I just didn't like the whole ghost thing, but I did like the progression of the story as a whole.
Stupid History: Tales of Stupidity, Strangeness, and Mythconceptions Throughout the Ages - Leland Gregory Good info. Bad Puns.
Blood Hunt - Christopher Buecheler Warning: Don't read this story unless you have read "The Blood That Bonds" first(last time I checked it was still free for Kindle), or you will be completely lost and miss out on the background stories of most of the characters.

I am very impressed with the author's writing. Not only does he dare to tell a story in a woman's POV, but he does it very well. I applaud him for imagining these amazing characters and putting it all down on paper in such a wonderful way, that I actually care about what happens to them.

I can't wait to see what happens with Tori! I got so caught up in her story in the beginning of the book, that I forgot this was supposed to be about Two. I will be impatiently waiting for the third and final book in the Trilogy. I happily recommend this book to readers who enjoy both Paranormal romances as well as Urban Fantasies.
The Sookie Stackhouse Companion - Charlaine Harris Wait until someone else purchases this book so you can borrow it when they're finished. The majority of the book is a timeline and recap of all of her previous books. If you've already read the series (which I imagine most have if they are getting the companion), it's kind of a waste of money.

The short story in the first section of the book was good but not great. This is the story of Sam's brother's wedding in between "Dead in the Family" and "Dead Reckoning". It was decent for a Sookie fix while I await the next in the series.

I will say that I did enjoy the recipe section and will most likely be making Caroline Bellefleur's famous chocolate cake in the near future. But the trivia section was ridiculous about the smallest details that had nothing to do with the real stories. Example: What color is the carpet in Maria-Star's apartment? Umm, Really? Who cares? And for those of you that do, the answer is Dark Blue. Now you can sleep better tonight for knowing right?

The interview with Alan Ball was interesting but nothing you couldn't have gotten from previous interviews with Rolling Stone or televised interviews on Youtube.

The rest of the book is a section called "A Guide to the World of Sookie Stackhouse" and is basically a Glossary of Terms and characters. And I mean EVERY character that she has ever written about in the series. Even characters mentioned from other characters who don't even have names such as "Arlene Fowler's aunt: No name given. Arlene's elderly aunt lives in nearby Clarice. (Mentioned in Dead After Dark)”. It seemed like someone is really milking the cash cow in this book.

Surviving Passion (The Shattered World, #1)

Surviving Passion (The Shattered World, #1) - Maia Underwood The title doesn’t really reflect the story. There were only 2 very short scenes in the whole book and they were less than passionate.

The post-apocalyptic storyline was interesting but lacking in real depth.

Oh, and the Agnostic girl finds God in her heart(not really what I was looking for when I got this book).
American Vampire (Vampire for Hire, #3) - J.R. Rain The story really was a 4 but the cliffhanging stuff is getting old! I would be really pissed if I had to wait a year before the next story came out.

I realize that these books are really cheap but the story is only 80% of the kindle download. The rest are introductions to other stories. The writer could have combined two of his last stories into one book and charged twice as much and I wouldn't be complaining, but to end the book in the middle of the storyline was just so disappointing. All build up and no release......

But of course I am now determined to find out what happens with Sam's 7 year old son, so I have purchased the next book. I know, the author did his job and is making his money off me now. I am a Sucker!

Vampire Moon (Vampire for Hire, #2)

Vampire Moon (Vampire for Hire, #2) - J.R. Rain I downloaded the next book in the series after reading the last sentence of this book! That was after I yelled "NO!" at my kindle. Stupid cliffhangers will get me everytime.....
Rajmund - D.B. Reynolds The first book was great, the second was good, this third installment was disappointing.

I never connected with Sarah. For all the life experience she supposedly had from her past, and being a college professor, she was really immature in her thoughts and actions. She complained, whined and argued with Rajmond the entire book. At 80% through the book, I wanted them to just end it and get on with their own lives because they were both so bi-polar! When they argued, it seemed like Raj would kiss her just to shut her up. But after the first time they went to bed (at the end of the book),she knew she was completely in love with him? Riiiiiiiight....

Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1)

Claimed (Brides of the Kindred, #1) - Evangeline Anderson This would have been such a better story if the leading lady didn't stammer at EVERY question and reply she spoke! We get the point, she was nervous, but come on! I just learned to expect it and tried to get on with the story like she had a complete and thought-out response.
Raphael - D.B. Reynolds 4 1/2 stars!

Refreshingly different from the normal paranormal romances! The characters were wonderful, strong and independent. Without giving too much away, the ending wasn't a fairy tale one, but it was satisfying in a "we live in the real world" sort of way. I am very impressed with this author's work and will gladly read the rest of the series!

The Breed Next Door (Breeds, #6)

The Breed Next Door (Breeds, #6) - Lora Leigh I know this was only a Novella, but I think I'm getting tired of her writing. It just seems like the same story with different characters.
Colters' Wife - Maya Banks I'm pretty sure I would have liked this story more if I read the other books in the series. But this was a free Kindle addition and I felt I was missing something.
Wicked Deeds on a Winter's Night - Kresley Cole I was debating on 3.5 or 4 stars on this one.

I didn't feel a real connection with Bowen and Mari like I did with the two previous books' characters. It took a while for me to even care if they got together or not.
Then when a witch gets captured by rebels, and is imprisoned in a cave, why would she not use magic to do something about it? I'm trying not to take the series too seriously because they are a fun, guilty pleasure, but I also see rational ways to handle situations and get frustrated. I guess that wouldn't make for a very suspenseful story huh? The twist at the end is why this was rated a 4.
Shadow Fall - Erin Kellison 3.5 Better than average.
Styx's Storm - Lora Leigh I gave this book 4 stars mainly because Lora Leigh brought back characters from her previous books that I have fallen in love with and have missed.

The story was good but I wouldn't have given it a higher rating by itself. The chocolate references got old. For most of the story the main character Storme was a brat and her arguments became frustrating.

Because I've read all the Breed books I found a few inconsistencies but that can happen when you read a series and the author might tend to "forget" what was said in prior books. One of these in this book, was said several times that no breed had "almost mated" his mate. This is not true since Tanner(the Bengal from Tanner's Scheme) couldn't claim his mate until they got over some emotional hurdles as in this book.

I love the Breed books and will continue to read them even if they are hit or miss. I look forward to reading her next one about Navarro and will patiently await for Cassie's story.
A Vote of Confidence - Robin Lee Hatcher A little religious but sweet.
